The Various Committees of the Horners Company

The General Purposes Committee

This Committee consisting of the Master and Wardens, five Members of the Court, The Clerk & Treasurer report to the Court. The other committees of the Company report to the General Purposes Committee which is the senior committee of the Company that consider matters placed before them and make their recommendations to the Court.

The Polymer Committee

This Committee consists of the Master and Wardens, the Chairmen of the Horners Awards Committee, the Educational Charity Committee, the Director General of the British Plastics Federation and other Court Members, Liverymen or Freemen connected to the plastics industry and who change periodically.

This Committee considers all matters relating to the Company's involvement in the polymer/plastics industry which include the various awards and the annual Ralph Anderson lecture, the annual lecture on aspects relating to the polymer/plastics industry.

The Horners Awards Committee

Chaired by a Court Member or Liveryman nominated by the Polymer Committee. The Horners Awards Committee also includes the Director General of the British Plastics Federation and two of its members together with the Master and two Liverymen. Their role is to oversee all of the Design Award Programmes this includes encouraging suitable entrants to the Awards, organising the judging panels to select the winners in each category.

The Communications Committe

Chaired by Past Master Michael Hart, the Committe includes the Master & his Wardens, the Editor of the Hornblower, the Wed Editor and Liverymen co-opted as required.

The Heritage Committee

Chaired by a past Master our Keeper of the Horn and Honorary Archivist, this Committee deals with all aspects of our heritage; the craft of the Horner.

The Livery Committee

This Committee consists of up to eighteen Liverymen or Freemen who are not on the Court. They act as a sounding board to consider the many matters relating to the Horners and make recommendations to the General Purposes Committee.
