The Worshipful Company of Horners

On 18th May the Horners were represented at the Inter Livery Clay Shooting day at the magnificent Holland & Holland Shooting Ground in West London by three teams, one consisting of Lynn Walters, John Roll-Pickering and myself with a guest, one team consisting of Charles Bettinson and guests and one from the long standing Hazeley shooting friends of the Horners. The day was a typical May spring day; torrential rain, 10C and driving winds!

In all 119 teams of 4 entered making this the largest event in the Holland & Holland calendar. The overall results were very pleasing for the Horners, with the Hazeley guest team winning first overall prize; no mean feat with Lynn’s team coming joint 27th and Charles team joint 40th. The Master also presented the Horners Shooting Trophy to the victorious Court Livery Team
