During 2018 around 60 Horners have taken part in visits to the Salvation Army Community Centre in Hoxton, Hackney.
During each visit there was an opportunity to view the roofspace that is being transformed by the Master’s Charity into a multi-activity and well being rooftop garden – alongside being hosted to lunch or tea in Major Sally Spry’s flat.
The visits culminated in a splendid Christmas lunch on the 18th December, shared with community users and volunteers from Ernst & Young and Coopers Coburn School. Horners that attended – along with the DL for Hackney, Roderick Morris – contributed generously to the costs of the ‘walk off the streets’ community lunches that Major Sally delivers on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
