The Worshipful Company of Horners

We may not have been able to match the same level of grandeur, tradition and fellowship that we have enjoyed in previous years at the Mansion House, home of the Lord Mayor, but the virtual banquet seemed to have been much enjoyed and appreciated.

We were extremely proud and fortunate that the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor, Alderman William Russell, and the Lady Mayoress, Hilary Russell, together with the Sheriffs and their Consorts joined us by Zoom for this landmark occasion in our Livery calendar.

We were joined by the Masters of 49 other Livery Companies, together with consorts, Clerks, representatives of our affiliated armed services, Horners and their guests.

We were most fortunate to be addressed by Rt Hon the Lord Mayor, Alderman William Russell and Sheriff and Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli.  It proved to be a very good evening.

In these rather different circumstance the evening was videoed and the first part of the proceedings (before dining) can be seen below.

The Master welcomed our guests and The Lord Mayor gave a fine address.  He presented the winner of our Design Innovation in Plastic Award, Kristen Tapping, with a Certificate and The Master in turn presented a cheque for the Lord Mayor’s Charity.

We then broke out into tables to enjoy chatting over our meal.  After the meal we came back together for the second part of the proceedings…

You can view some more pictures of the evening, taken from our ‘Zoom’ screens, in the Gallery. Click here.
